A weekend of events is scheduled for Sept. 16-17 to celebrate the future development of Storrs Center.
On Saturday, Sept. 16, a fireworks display will take place in the park at the Mansfield Hollow Dam.
Bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets, and listen to local musicians Yesterday's Sushi and The Organic Blues Band.
performances begin at 6 p.m., with fireworks set for dusk.
Hamburgers and hot dogs will be sold by The Lion's Club.

On Sunday, Sept. 17, from noon to 4 p.m., the Mansfield Downtown Partnership will hold its annual Festival on the Green in Mansfield's commercial area along Route 195.
The Festival will open with a musical performance by the Kidsville Kuckoo Revue at noon, followed by the Little Big Band at 1:30 p.m. and the Mohegan Sun All Stars at 3:30 p.m.
Members of the community are invited to participate in the Tykes, Trikes, and Bikes parade which will assemble at 12:45 p.m. near Dog Lane, and proceed to the Festival area at 1 p.m.
Activities will include inflatable rides, pony rides, a petting zoo, dancing, a pie-eating contest, a floral arrangement demo, and displays promoting local businesses and cultural and historical venues.
There will also be a sidewalk drawing contest for both adults and children. Food will be available from local vendors.
