Committee Seeks Nominations for
Honorary Degree Awards

The University Board of Trustees' Honors and Awards Committee seeks nominations for honorary degrees for the 2002 Commencement.

The Board's criteria state, in part, that an honorary degree should be conferred "in recognition of extraordinary and lasting distinction (and) should represent the highest intellectual and moral values (of individuals) whose life and achievements serve as examples of the University's aspirations for its students."

Nominations may be submitted by any member of the faculty, staff, student body, alumni, or community. An individual may not nominate himself or herself. Nominations should be submitted by Wednesday, Sept. 26.

For a complete statement of honorary degree criteria, nomination forms, and further information, please e-mail or call the Office of the President: (860) 486-2333.>
